How Life Coaching Works
Best Life Coaching offers coaching with a difference. Our goals is to help you get the best from your life by helping you to eliminate the emotional blocks, limiting beliefs and habitual behaviours that have been preventing you from achieving your goals and living your dreams. We use a transformational life coaching approach, supported and enhanced by Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Hypnosis and Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP)—techniques that are proven to help you to change your thought processes and achieve the emotional, cognitive and behavioural shifts needed to achieve your goals. Coaching is future focused. Jacqueline Isaac, our head coach, wants to help you to move into the future you have chosen, free of past issues. Jacqueline will help you to clarify and articulate what you want from your life, and to identify and eliminate the old fears and ways of thinking that have kept you from living to your full potential until now. With coaching support, you will be able to reach your goals, while enjoying making sustainable, healthy choices toward living with purpose, passion and joy.
Coaching, Hypnosis and EFT by Phone
Best Life Coaching is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Most of the clients who come to us for coaching and hypnosis are in Toronto, but we also work with client from outside Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Since coaching, EFT and hypnosis all work so well by phone, we welcome clients who live outside the city, outside the country, even outside the continent! Distance is no barrier to effective, transformational life coaching.Although coaching works well on the telephone, most clients choose to meet with coach Jacqueline Isaac in person for the first several sessions, in order to establish a firm rapport and bond of trust for coaching, and to ensure that you are comfortable with the techniques and processes involved in coaching.
The Coaching Relationship
Since coaching is a relationship, the fit between you and your coach is important, so an initial "get to know you" consultation is held, usually at no charge. At this first meeting, you identify what you want to work on and tell your coach a bit about yourself and your background. You may be asked to fill out some preliminary paperwork at this time. Based on your description of your goals, your coach will respond by describing the coaching process, and how hypnosis and other techniques might be used to help you to address issues, limiting beliefs and old habits that are blocking the path to reaching your goals. You are encouraged to ask questions so that you are comfortable with the process. This first meeting enables both you and your coach to determine if you can form a good working relationship to achieve your goals and to get the results you are seeking. Trust is an important element in the coaching relationship, as is mutual respect. Establishing a good rapport and a bond of trust is important for coaching, and absolutely essential when hypnosis and other approaches are used. Both hypnosis and NLP use relaxation and the client's imagination to access the subconscious mind. These techniques help you to clear old, limiting beliefs, negative thoughts and habitual behaviours, and to support the integration of new, healthful ways of thinking and being. Even in the deepest hypnotic state, you are always free to speak, move and accept or reject suggestions according to your values and goals. These techniques are widely recognized as safe and effective, and are used only when agreed upon by both the client and the coach. As part of your Best Life Coaching program, with the guidance of your coach you will also learn how to use Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) to release trapped emotional energy. EFT is a wonderfully effective technique that you will be able to learn easily for use on your own between coaching sessions to help achieve your goals more quickly. Although coaching works well on the telephone--you can even do EFT and hypnosis over the phone--whenever possible clients meet with BEST LIFE coach Jacqueline Isaac in person, at least for the first session. Ideally face-to-face meetings continue for the first few sessions, giving opportunity to firmly establish trust and for you to become comfortable with hypnosis/hypnotherapy, EFT and NLP. Once the coaching relationship has been established, your primary goals have been clearly identified, and major blocks and limiting beliefs are on the way to being cleared, you may choose to use telephone sessions to “meet” with your coach. After a few face-to-face sessions, hypnotherapy and EFT can easily and comfortably be used over the phone, since both you and your coach now know what to expect and what works well for you. The typical coaching relationship lasts from six months to one year--sometimes shorter and sometimes longer, depending on your needs and goals as the client. Duration of the coaching relationship is determined in large part by your goals, the issues to be addressed, and/or the beliefs and behaviours to be changed. For example, stopping smoking can sometimes be achieved after just one session. On the other hand, weight release and body image issues, especially those that have a long history, are complex mixes that often involve emotions, habits, beliefs and addictions, and may require several months or more to resolve successfully.
The Coaching Process
As well as being future-focused, life coaching is also client-driven. The work is done by the client. It is your goals that are articulated, your fears that are released, your solutions that are teased out and implemented, and ultimately your dreams that are realized. For this reason, there are homework assignments between coaching sessions at various stages throughout the coaching relationship. Although there is a standard approach to the assignments, each is tailored to the individual client and, because the answers come from you and nowhere else, the outcomes and next steps vary from client to client, even for the same problem or issue. On a week-by-week basis, a typical coaching process might progress something like this:i) Initial ½-3/4 hour free “get to know you” telephone consultationii) First face-to-face session 1 ½ - 2 hours for information gathering and work.iii) Second session (1 ½ hours) to continue work and discuss goals [typical homework might be goal focusing].iv) Third session (1 ½ hours) to work on goal homework and do follow-up regarding issue work.v) 2 weeks of telephone contact (45 minutes - 1 hour) while client does goal work and issue work settles. Telephone EFT or hypnosis sessions may occur.vi) Repeat steps iii), iv) and/or v), on the phone or in person, for three to twelve months, as required.

In addition to private individual sessions, Best Life Coaching also offers seminars, workshops, workshop series and support groups addressing specific topics and issues of interest to groups, public institutions, and corporations. Half day and evening workshops include topics dealing with stress, relationships, career performance, financial wellbeing, the law of attraction, etc.
